The book features over 120 sheets of beautiful, traditional Japanese designs. From the expert known as Horihide, he is one of the original masters of Japanese tattoo work and is able to combine both tradition and modernity. He is the number one representative of Horimono and is unanimously considered a real reference point for modern tattoo work. Known as a legend within the tattoo industry, Horihide has collated his extensive knowledge and talent in this book. Compiling a lifetime of research and artwork in this collection truly shows his commitment to the culture of traditional Japanese tattooing. His unique style takes inspiration from the traditional Japanese Ukyo-e prints. Many of his subjects are the re-interpretation of famous prints that have been adapted to use on the anatomy of the human body. As the master himself says the artworks are "translated into tattoos" with additional details the make the designs fit perfectly with the beauty of Horimono. Horihide has a preference for the more classical characters of Japanese culture. Many of these are easily recognisable, even for those who are not a fan or considerably knowledgeable of Japanese culture. This includes subjects taken from the prints that depict scenes from the Kabuki theatre. Published in 2009, this book has over 128 pages.
