Although s simple item, petroleum jelly is not something to be overlooked. It is an essential item in almost every tattoo studio and is used at a number of stages in the tattoo process. This particular petroleum jelly has been double refined which makes in extra hydrating for the skin. Petroleum jelly is used during the tattooing process to make sure the skin stays moist, this not only means the client will be more comfortable but also means it is more likely to take the ink. It also keeps any blood that may appear from scabbing or going hard. Another one of its uses is that it forms a protective barrier which keeps the area that is getting tattooed free from bacteria and dirt. It also makes wiping away excess ink a lot more comfortable for the client as the area will already be raw. Petroleum jelly also creates a grove in the needles sits giving you smoother and straighter lines. Once the tattoo is finished, it will provide a protective seal for the first few hours after the client leaves the studio. It is available from Barber DTS as a 190g tub.
